Messy play is the engagement in play that ignites the senses, expands the mind, improves communication, and develops social skills. It involves learning through experiences, with the use of all five senses and draws from sensory activities, that spark the imagination and develops a sense of independence and curiosity.
Messy play is quite simply, the act of engaging in play that involves the use of sensory items and ‘mess’. When children engage in messy play it allows them to explore things, not only with their eyes and ears but also through the use of touch, smell and taste. This helps them in developing important skills, including communication skills, problem solving and motor-skills as well as fostering their own independence, imagination and creativity.
Here at Messy Mania we endeavour to support your children in engaging in Messy Play, through a multi-sensory play experience. During each 60 minute Messy Mania session, your little ones are able to explore as many of the stations as they wish. Each week contains a variety, of at least 6 different activities to match the theme of the week, in which your little ones can use all their senses to experience the fun of Messy Play.
The best part? – no clean up!
At Messy Mania we take care of all the hard work that can sometimes go into messy play, setting up all the activities and cleaning up after. However if you do wish to recreate the wonders that your child experienced whilst at Messy Mania, we also supply a how-to-at-home cheat sheet for at least one of the activities each week.
